Job Summary

The Accounting/Payroll Specialist will assist with maintaining the general ledger, post journal entries, complete account reconciliations, and ensure that accurate financial statements are prepared on a timely basis.  An equally important responsibility will be preparing weekly payroll reports, inputting associate data into the payroll system, and manage the payroll and commission process for the company, including working closely with ADP.  What we required from you:

  • 2-3 years in accounting, bookkeeping or related experience.
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles
  • Experience working with ADP’s Workforce Now payroll software (mandatory)
  • Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
  • Capacity to learn new software and systems and manage processes as they evolve
  • Strong understanding of internal controls
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work through multiple tasks with minimal supervision with a high level of detail and accuracy.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required

What you will do:

  • Actively participate in the month-end, quarterly and year-end accounting close processes.
  • Responsible for full-cycle payroll processing activities, including computing wage/overtime payments and calculating/recording payroll deductions.
  • Assist with maintaining the general ledger
  • Prepare account and balance sheet reconciliations, including related journal entries
  • Process payroll corrections and adjustments, research pay-related transactions and resolves pay issues.
  • Communicate with associates, the People Department and third parties, as needed.
  • Create and maintain payroll process documentation
  • Perform accounting, finance, payroll and administrative duties, as assigned
